After School Enrichment
Girls Inc. of Carpinteria inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold through impactful programs that empower girls to achieve personal, social, political, and economic success.
Our programs respond to the critical need in Carpinteria for high-quality after-school enrichment for Pre-K-12th grade girls.
As the only licensed school-age program in Carpinteria, we focus on three core essential services (healthy living, academic support & enrichment, and life skills instruction) with age-appropriate and relevant information that is interactive, inclusive, and culturally appropriate to reach our designed outcomes.
Our holistic approach helps girls to value themselves, take risks, and discover/develop their inherent strengths.
Our after-school enrichment (ASE) program provides a safe and mentoring environment for girls or girl-identifying youth. We operate when schools are closed Monday through Friday after-school to 5:30pm.
Trauma-sensitive approach to social and emotional learning
Girls Inc. takes a trauma-sensitive approach to social and emotional learning to ensure that we create spaces where girls are free to share their experiences with each other and trusted adult mentors. We provide a safe place to give and receive support and information around challenging life experiences by prioritizing mental health, implementing buffering services, and training staff. As part of our 3-stage mental health initiative, all staff have been trained in trauma-informed care and first aid mental health.
