In Our Own Hands
In Our Own Hands is a nine-session workshop series for girls ages 12 to 14, to build leadership skills and create lasting social change through a community action project. Girls Leadership Academy engages girls to celebrate their heritage, investigate rights and responsibilities, practice leadership skills, and tackle issues of concern. Girls deepen their understanding of girls and women as social change agents and of leadership as a collective process grounded in belonging to, and having responsibility for, one’s community.
The workshop will meet at Girls Inc. of Carpinteria on Wednesdays from 4-6 PM starting on January 22. Complete the registration form below and turn in to Girls Inc. office or to email@example.com.
