The STRONG program was re-focused in 2020 as an enrichment and outreach program to help develop an interest in healthy living for girls in our out-of-school programs and throughout our community.
STRONG focuses on health and wellness by combining physical activity, nutrition, and a healthy living curriculum to engage the mind, body, and soul.
Our program engages youth ages 5-18 from a variety of different backgrounds, with a focus on girls who would not otherwise have access to physical education opportunities outside of school.
Funding supports STRONG program growth and sustainability to plan, engage, and provide accessible outdoor enrichment activities. Additionally, consistent funding enables Girls Inc. of Carpinteria to maintain a dedicated full-time staff, collaborate with other programs, and provide enriching programming to the girls in our community.
Our Outreach program offers a variety of sport opportunities ranging from Track & Field to Self Defense.

Girls Inc. of Carpinteria re-launched its gymnastics program in 2021 after almost 25 years! After feedback from the community and the limits of physical offerings for youth in Carpinteria, we are proud to re-introduce and build a sustainable program.
Training in gymnastics promotes confidence and strength on and off the mat and embodies all of the positive philosophies and strong character-building we at Girls Inc. stand for and foster.
Gymnastics classes are fun, fast-moving, and deliver intense exercises that motivate and encourage girls at all fitness levels. This controlled program is designed for all ages and body types and accommodates beginners to more skilled students. Coaches provide safe and thorough instruction and incorporate the proper amount of appropriate spotting to ensure safety during drills and skills, and seamlessly manage multiple stations of different events to keep the class flowing, motivating, and most of all fun!
Gymnastics exudes discipline and excels at positively pushing students to controlled limits, both physically and mentally. The class formats are specifically designed to gain students’ trust and shape their mentality to work at their hardest each session. Each class is planned to include creative choreography that offers the students a variety in each event and targets different muscles to help build strength all over.
